About this site

The Therapy Choices website provides people with disability, their carers
and family members with information based on their own activities and goals about services offered by allied health professionals.

Occupational Therapy Australia developed the website as a project funded by the
Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community Services
and Indigenous Affairs under the Practical Design Fund.

People with disability and their carers were an integral part of the project from
the outset taking part in the Project Reference Group and also participating
through the NDIS Grassroots Facebook group.

Members of the Project Reference Group included representatives from:

  • Australian Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Association
  • Carers Victoria
  • Cerebral Palsy Support Network
  • Independent Living Centres Australia
  • Physical Disability Australia

Occupational Therapy Australia collaborated with other professions in developing the content, and maintaining the website. Occupational Therapy Australia will periodically update material on this site.

Gunela Astbrink, with the lived experience of disability, of GSA InfoComm was contracted by Occupational Therapy Australia to manage the content development, coordinate the design of the website and the production of the video. Gunela adopted the principles used in the consumer-centred website Disability Lifestyles that she previously developed.

The Therapy Choices site is designed to conform to the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines v 2.0  to Level AA.

The Therapy Choices site was designed and built by Fat Beehive.
